We are currently looking for a talented and experienced Senior C++ Software Engineer to work for EUMETSAT on the maintenance of the operational radio occultation processor for the GRAS instrument.
What will you do?
Your everyday tasks will include code quality control and implementing new features in close cooperation with the research team. Using the CI pipeline, you will port reference implementations from a Python framework to C++ and ensure that all data quality metrics are met.
What do we require?
- Strong programming experience in C++ and using the Boost framework
- Fluent in Python with knowledge of data processing with NumPy and SciPy
- Unit and system testing C++ code on a CI pipeline
- Professional experience using Git
- Very good knowledge of the Linux operating system
- Fluency in both written and spoken English
Additionally, knowledge of Signal and RF data processing, especially Radio Occultation Experience in working with RHEL8, or AiX-based systems is considered a plus.
The position is based in Darmstadt, Germany, and is partly remote. The international team you will be part of is constantly improving the data quality for global weather forecasts.
